SI.SCO
Second Life AIThe management system for second-hand textiles

It follows the goods from the weighed basket to the end customer: the warehouse split into four operations, production lists that close by themselves, the till of the corners, the truck weighbridge, customers with their history. A single server on site and every workstation, from PC to phone, on the same data, at the same moment.

The four operations

Different goods,
different rules.

Second-hand textiles are not a single kind of goods. They are bought in bales and sold by the kilo, or counted by the piece but invoiced by weight; the best garments have their own price, costumes go out and come back. Four operations share master data and warehouse, but each reasons in its own unit.

01

Wholesale by the kilo

measured in kilos

Bales and baskets received, weighed at the sorting table, sold by the kilo. Every parcel has a code, a weight, a position and a history that is read from the barcode.

  • Received, pre-issue, issued, documented: four states, no ambiguity
  • Stock in kilos per box, row, category and item
  • Production lists with the output computed from the warehouse
02

Retail by piece and weight

pieces counted, invoiced by weight

Garments are counted, but the invoice is by weight: the two columns sit side by side and are never added up. Corners and shops work with the till, shelves have a top and a bottom.

  • Pieces and kilos together on every line
  • Corners and shops with the point of sale and the reader
  • Corner replenishment with the low-stock threshold
03

Collection

near-unique garments, own price

Premium garments have an RFID label and a full price the till does not discount. Each has its own card with photo, size, colour and sales channel, online too.

  • 45×20 RFID label read by handheld and phone
  • Garment showcase with the QR code on the label
  • Online sales with Shopify synchronised overnight
04

Rental archive

garments that go out and come back

Costumes and vintage garments in showcases: they are rented, leave with a document and return on the agreed date. The calendar remembers the returns, the card remembers every outing.

  • 40×40 label and position in the showcase
  • Outings, returns and deadlines in the shared calendar
  • Full history of every garment, customer by customer

The modules

Seventeen windows,
one program.

Every module is a window of the program, with sample data. As you scroll the list, the window you are reading about appears on the left: the scenes are the same ones seen from the PC, set in the shop floor.

Wholesale warehouse

Every parcel has a place and a history. Received, pre-issue, issued and documented are the four states of the goods; the date in red flags a parcel that has stood still too long. Views by box, item, category and row open with a click and are searched by customer, shipment and date.

Sorting control
04

Sorting control

Who did how much, and how. Weighings arrive from the tables with operator, category and time; the server compares them, corrects sorting errors and prints the picture: kilos processed, average per operator, errors, kilos per hour.

The question

In one's own words

No need to know the name of the function: the question is written as it would be put to a colleague. “And to print it?” is understood without repeating the first question.

The answer

Steps, chapter, button

“Open …” opens the screen and leaves the panel on top, so the steps are followed live; it appears only with the permission. The thumbs of “Was it useful?” show where to complete the manual.

The green Help button, the question in one's own words and the answer with the steps, the chapter and the button that opens the screen. If the manual does not say, “Not in the manual” appears.

The request, in words

Period, customer and grouping are written as they would be said. If several customers have a similar name, the panel lists the candidates and the calculation starts after the choice.

The calculation, explained

Tiles with the totals, first rows and the box “How the figures were calculated”: what was counted and what was excluded. Pieces and kilos are never added together. A correction is written without starting over.

Saved, repeated at zero cost

“Save report” puts it in “My reports”; “Repeat” runs it on the day's data without artificial intelligence. The period is recalculated, the customer can be asked each time; print and Excel from the program.

The assistant is powered by Claude, by Anthropic, with the company's key. It lives in the office program: it is not on the phone or on the handheld.

The handheld

The warehouse updates
where the work happens.

The shop-floor handheld is a page of the same server: an address is opened in the tablet's browser and added to the home screen. Nothing is installed and there is no copy of the data to reconcile at the end of the day — a parcel read at the shelf is recorded in the server's warehouse the moment it is read. Five jobs on the same device, switched from the menu.

01

Wholesale warehouse

the parcel is read, the warehouse updates

This is the job that follows the goods from production to shipping. You choose the identifier of the operation — a production list, a customer, or a code written by hand — and from then on every parcel read joins that operation. Weight and position come from the warehouse: nothing is typed on the handheld.

Retail warehouse

the same gestures, on garments by the piece

In retail the goods travel in boxes of counted garments, and by weight only when sold by the kilo. The screen is the same as wholesale — identifier, direction, reading — with two differences: the handheld writes by itself what gets read for each kind of goods, and a return from the shop reopens a sale and sits on a line of its own.

Aisle and shelf

the position is written once, then the parcels are read

Placing the goods and finding them again. Aisle and shelf are typed on the keypad — position labels are not needed — and from then on every parcel read ends up there, with nothing else to touch. The Look section asks the opposite question: what is in that aisle, or on that shelf.

Corner loading

restocking the corner, and selling from the corner

The corner is the part of the shop that displays single garments: rails, boxes and shelves, each with a capacity. The handheld says which positions are below the reorder level and where to take the garments from — the rail first, two steps away, then the box in the warehouse — and when selling it does the opposite: the garments pass to the customer and end up in their pre-issue.

Shipment seal

the container closes with a number and a photo

Once the truck has weighed out, the handheld shows the day's shipments and says which ones are missing their seal. The stamped number is typed in and the seal photographed: number and photo end up on the shipping document. If customs opens it, the new seal is added with the reason, and the previous one stays in the history.

The shops

And in the shops,
what is going on?

Every night the program reads the orders, the returns, the stock on hand and the transfers received from Shopify, and keeps them in its own database. It writes nothing back to the shop: it only reads. From then on every question has an immediate answer.

The shops at a glance

The shops at the top, side by side: takings for the period, day by day trend, pieces, average receipt and returns. Next to them, what is in the shop right now, what it is worth at retail price and how much of it has been sitting there for over two months. Below, the cards of the stock that is not moving: what to bring back or put on sale, before it becomes dead weight. Every figure can be tapped and opens the list of garments behind it, ready to print or to take into Excel.

One server,
many workplaces.

The program is installed once, on a server on site; everything else opens from the browser. In every department a small agent, the Bridge, talks to scales, printers and antennas; outside, the management system talks to accounting and the online shop.

Going live

Starting from the data
you already have.

No company starts from scratch: items, customers and stock come from the previous system, the program is installed in a day and the first working days are done side by side, on the shop floor.

  1. 01

    Site visit and data

We look at the lines, the scales and the system in use; items, customers and stock are imported from the existing data, checked together before going live.

  2. 02

    Installation

A server on site with the setup program that creates the Windows service; the Bridge in the departments; PCs, tablets and handhelds connect from the browser, with nothing to install.

  3. 03
